A: Yes, However, however we are not able to receive donations of recreational vehicles or boats at this time.

2. Are donations made to your organization donation tax deductible?

A: Yes. Family Outreach Program is listed as a 5 01 (C) (3) organization and is currently listed on the IRS website as a tax deductible organization. Family Outreach Program is also exempt in the State of Illinois with it Tax exempt number and is in good standing.

3. Is it alright to donate a vehicle that is not running?

A Yes, we are able to pick up a vehicle that does not run assuming it can be easily towed and the donor has a title and if possible, keys to the vehicle.

4. What is the best way to inform you that we want to donate a vehicle?

5. If the vehicle is not from Illinois, can we still donate the vehicle?

A. Yes, However we prefer to limit our donations to Illinois and its neighbouring states, however our liability coverage is for the entire continental U.S...

6. Does Family Outreach Program offer a legitimate value for the vehicle when it is donated?

A: Yes, It offers as complete an evaluation as possible according to the Kelly Blue Book or the Nada Guides. A copy of that evaluation may be previewed to make sure it matches with all aspects of the vehicle donated. New laws enforced by the I.R.S. may apply regarding the deduction of the value of the vehicle.

7. How does Family Outreach Program compare with other organizations advertising the donation of vehicle?

Also, for your information, effective January 1, 2005, the tax deduction is based upon selling price of the vehicle. For vehicles that sell for less than $500, you can claim fair market value of the vehicle up to $499, all others will be the sale price. A contemporaneous receipt will be sent to you within 30 days after the sale.
